"very"
there's been an inflation of sorts in the english language -- the more we emphasize our lexicon with words like "really", "very", "incredibly", the flatter it ends up feeling overall. take, for example:
"i'm very angry with you."
"i'm angry with you."
doesn't the latter just sound angrier than the former? it does to me. for that reason, i'll usually try to avoid them when i write. so if i really hate modifiers so much, uh, what gives? why @veryishaan? why veryishaan.com? why the veryveryveryveryveryvery?
well, it's been a while since i first noticed that inflation and disavowed modifiers. i've grown, so too has my appetite. and as i start thinking bigger and dreaming larger, a particular adverb has started creeping its way back into my vernacular.
i don't want to just be successful; i want to be very successful.
i don't want to just be happy; i want to be very happy.
i don't want to just be ishaan; i want to be very ishaan.
i do tend to be an all-or-nothing kinda guy. i feel intensely, i live loudly, i give my all in everything i do. the word "very" is my way of putting it into words.
